care guide
My designs are dyed in a slow, traditional manner using dye plants and natural fibers, which makes each piece uniquely beautiful and as one-of-a-kind as a living plant.
Caring for your naturally-dyed clothing is very similar to caring for your conventionally-dyed clothing. You can wear it often and wash it when needed.
My preferred choice of care is to wash by hand in a sink or tub basin with a gentle, non-toxic soap.
My second recommendation is to wash on a delicate cycle in the washing machine using a gentle PH neutral detergent (this will keep the color strong for a long time) without any toxic chemicals, oils, or perfumes.
Always dry naturally-dyed clothing away from direct sunlight and store your new plant dyed clothing in a closet or dresser when you are not wearing it. Studio Ora clothing will continue to get softer and more beautiful with wear, so no need for toxic fabric softeners.
Avoid using baking soda and lemon juice as their acidic / alkaline PH can disrupt the organic colors of natural dyes.
Caring for your Studio Ora clothing with these tips will give your new plant dyed garment a long, beautiful life!
